Director of Product
Director of Product
UK
Salary £110-120k
We're not a traditional pharma business; we think and build like a modern digital product team. That means fast feedback loops, strong design thinking, clear prioritisation, and always pufling the patient at the centre.
About the role:
We're at a critical inflection point where our growth is challenging our foundations, we’re looking for a foundational leader to join our executive team as Director of Product. This is a role for a hands-on executive, who thrives in the messy middle of a scale-up and is passionate about building something exceptional from the ground up.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for professionalising our product management function, stabilising our core platform, and sefling the strategy to enable our next phase of global growth. You will mentor our team of Product Managers, install a robust product operating model, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with Engineering to enable us in our high growth journey. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our product, our team, and our company.
What you'll be doing:
- Build the Foundation: Design and implement the product operating model, processes, and culture needed to transform us into a world-class product organisation.
- Build & Lead the Team: Hire, mentor, and grow our team of Product Managers, empowering them to do their best work.
- Set the Strategy: Own the product strategy and create a clear, actionable roadmap that balances immediate stabilisation needs with our long-term ambition.
- Get Hands-On: Dive deep into our current platform and processes, working with your team to empower the business and serve our patients.
- Drive Go-to-Market: Partner with Growth, Clinical, and Operations to launch new products and features that deliver maximum impact for our patients and the business.
- Collaborate & Influence: Serve as a key member of the leadership team, working with Engineering, Clinical, Growth and Operations to ensure we are building the right things, the right way.
- Champion the Patient: Be the voice of the patient, ensuring their needs and safety are at the core of everything we build.
What were looking for:
- Proven Scale-Up Experience: You have a demonstrable track record of building and maturing a product management function within a high-growth, scale-up environment. You know what "good" looks like and how to get there.
- A Builder/Fixer Mentality: You are energised by the challenge of bringing order to chaos. You are a pragmatic, hands-on leader who is just as comfortable sefling strategy as you are refining a backlog.
- Technical Credibility: While you won't be coding, you have an understanding of technical architecture, especially in the context of platform stability, scalability, and security. You can have high-bandwidth conversations with engineers.
- Exceptional Leadership Skills: You are an experienced people leader with a passion for hiring, coaching, and developing talent. You lead with empathy, clarity, and a focus on outcomes.
- Strategic & Commercially Aware: You connect product initiatives directly to business outcomes, have experience managing budgets, and can make tough prioritisation calls backed by data and market insights.
- Data-Driven: You have deep experience defining and driving key business and product metrics (KPIs, OKRs) to guide decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a regulated industry (like healthcare or fintech) is a significant plus.
- Build from the Ground Up: This is a rare opportunity to build a product function in your image. You won't be inheriting legacy bureaucracy; you'll be creating the foundations for our future success.
- Solve Meaningful Problems: Your work will directly impact the health and wellbeing of our patients. You'll be solving complex, meaningful challenges in the digital healthcare space.
- Make a Massive Impact: As a key member of the leadership team, you will have a direct and tangible impact on the company's trajectory and success.
